This project is an interdisciplinary effort to design and build a multi-sensor technology that aims to enable online monitoring and controls of the biological phosphorus removal and recovery processes. The multi-sensor technology will be the first to provide reliable and accurate real-time measurements of phosphate ions in wastewater. We believe this technology will advance sustainable water management by improving biological phosphorus removal efficiencies, reducing chemical usage and optimizing resource recovery.
